H2Pro TriSmart registered as a non-microbial plant biostimulant

H2Pro TriSmart is registered as a non-microbial plant biostimulant under EU Fertilising Products Regulation (EU) 2019/1009.

The registration is supported by independent trials conducted by STRI in Bingley, UK, investigating the performance of H2Pro TriSmart under drought stress.

The product itself has not changed. The registration provides formal recognition of measured plant responses associated with H2Pro TriSmart’s management of moisture within drought-affected soil and rootzones.

What did the STRI trials show?

Four independent field trials were conducted, each using eight treatment replications.

Compared with untreated turf under drought-stress conditions, H2Pro TriSmart-treated plots recorded significant improvements in:

• turf quality
• turf color
• turf uniformity
• turf density
• NDVI
• volumetric moisture content (VMC)

The results provide evidence that improved moisture management in the rootzone can translate into measurable differences in turf performance during drought stress.

How does H2Pro TriSmart support the plant?

H2Pro TriSmart is a surfactant-based wetting agent designed to improve the distribution and availability of water within the rootzone.

Its biostimulant effects should therefore not be interpreted as a separate direct physiological action on the plant. The measured turf responses are associated with the product’s ability to improve moisture conditions within drought-affected soils and rootzones.

That distinction is important because it explains why the same product can function as a wetting agent while also meeting the regulatory requirements for registration as a non-microbial plant biostimulant.

What does the registration mean for turf managers?

For existing H2Pro TriSmart users, the formulation and recommended use of the product have not changed.

The new registration reflects the evidence generated under controlled independent testing and provides a regulatory basis for the plant-performance benefits measured under drought-stress conditions.
