ICL Growing Solutions Suzano 1 produces plant nutrition products for the Latin America market. Suzano 1 occupies a strategic location close to São Paulo, in the southeastern part of Brazil. The proximity of the port of Santos, the most important port in Brazil, simplifies the import of raw materials and the shipping of finished product for domestic and global markets.
Suzano 1 focuses on producing water-soluble and liquid fertilizers, chelates of nickel, cobalt, zinc, manganese, and copper, and sodium molybdate and copper sulfate. These include products for ICL’s Kellus, Profol, and Helper brands. In 2024, the factory also added the production of ICL’s BIOZ® line of innovative biostimulants to its portfolio.

Suzano 1 has seen continuous investment since its establishment in 1991, with major developments in recent years. In 2023, a $4 million investment added a new spray dryer to the site, enhancing the facility’s capacity to produce water-soluble fertilizers, chelated micronutrients, and other specialty products.
With six dedicated production areas and in-house R&D laboratories, Suzano 1 is fully focused on delivering high-quality plant nutrition solutions for professionals across Latin America. A new master plan is guiding future development, including the construction of two new warehouses, optimized site layout, and the ongoing modernization of production lines to support increased automation and mixing capacity.

Our BIOZ® family of biostimulant products are designed to unlock the full potential of crops. These cutting-edge biostimulants use a unique amino acid-based chelation technology that supports improved nutrient uptake and plant development. A project is currently underway at Suzano 1 to automate the BIOZ line with a new microgranulator, advanced packaging systems, and automatic palletizing.

To ensure product quality, all raw materials entering the facility are analyzed, with results traceable via the cloud-based MyLIMS system. This end-to-end traceability guarantees the consistent quality of every batch produced at Suzano 1.

A composting system installed at the site processes organic waste from the factory restaurant into fertilizer for the on-site gardens. In addition, water-saving initiatives such as waterless urinals and process water reuse are in place to further reduce the facility’s environmental footprint.

Suzano 1 combines flexible production capabilities with state-of-the-art equipment, including a spray dryer for specialty fertilizers and chelates. Plans are in place to further automate the site, including a new robotic microgranulation and packaging line which is fully integrated with the factory’s digital control systems.

Under a site-wide master plan, Suzano 1 is expanding its storage and optimizing its internal logistics with two new warehouses and improved site layout. Continuous investment in Industry 4.0 technologies ensures the facility remains at the forefront of sustainable and efficient fertilizer production.
