BIOZ ActiBio EVO53 introduces a new generation of soybean co-inoculant that merges biology and innovation. By combining a novel Azospirillum strain with advanced stabilization methods, it boosts nitrogen fixation, plant growth, and yield consistency – even under challenging conditions. Built on ICL’s broader move from organic to microbiological innovation, it offers growers a sustainable, science-driven way to enhance productivity and soil health.

At ICL Growing Solutions, we believe in developing innovative solutions to help agriculture evolve, not only in productivity, but in how it harnesses nature’s own biological systems. That’s why, with our latest product, we are moving beyond traditional organic biostimulants and expanding into microbiological innovation.

This latest development, BIOZ ActiBio EVO53, represents a new generation of soybean co-inoculation technology designed to enhance performance through science-based microbial solutions.

A New Approach to Soybean Co-Inoculation

BIOZ ActiBio EVO53 is a biological co-inoculant formulated with the novel microbial strain Azospirillum brasilense HM053. Developed in partnership with leading researchers at Brazil’s ANPIIBio (National Association for the Promotion and Innovation of the Biological Industry), BIOZ ActiBio EVO53 combines two essential capabilities: high biological nitrogen fixation and the production of plant growth-promoting substances such as hormones, amino acids, and beneficial pigments.

The result is a microbial inoculant that strengthens root development, supports nutrient uptake, and enhances plant vigor from early growth stages.

    Proven Field Performance

Field research in Brazil has shown that BIOZ ActiBio EVO53 delivers measurable improvements over conventional strains. On average, trials on soybeans recorded:

    • 17% more nodules,
    • 11% more nitrogen accumulation in plant tissue, and
    • yield increases of more than three bags per hectare.

These results highlight the product’s potential to improve soybean productivity while supporting efficient nitrogen management.

    Strain Stability and Adaptation

The Azospirillum brasilense HM053 strain was developed using adaptive evolution methods. These methods involve exposing the developing strain to specific conditions and environmental pressures to increase the strain’s stability under challenging environmental conditions. This means our new inoculant delivers more reliable performance, even when weather or soil conditions vary.

By combining improved nitrogen fixation with enhanced resilience, BIOZ ActiBio EVO53 helps growers maintain consistent and sustainable productivity.

    From Organic to Microbiological Innovation

Organic biostimulants, including seaweed extracts, amino acids, and humic substances, have long supported healthy crop growth, and can be found in ICL’s Nova NPKelp, Nova Humic and BIOZ plant nutrition products. BIOZ ActiBio EVO53 takes a different approach by introducing a living microorganism that directly interacts with the plant–soil system.

This is another of ICL’s innovative solutions for agriculture, where innovation lies not only in stimulating plant processes but in enabling them through active microbial function.

    Advancing Sustainable Productivity Through Microbiology

As agriculture moves toward greater efficiency and environmental responsibility, microbial technologies like BIOZ ActiBio EVO53 are key to achieving more with less.

By increasing biological nitrogen fixation and promoting stronger plant development, ActiBio EVO53 provides growers with a practical, science-driven tool for sustainable productivity.

It reflects ICL’s ongoing commitment to developing innovative solutions that work in harmony with nature for resilient crops, profitable farms, and more sustainable production.
