Yes. The quality of irrigation water highly influences plant growth. To determine the right water-soluble fertilizer, proceed with an irrigation water analysis.

Detect: pH value, EC value, bicarbonate (HCO3) level and the type and quantity of elements available in the water itself. Analysis results will show whether it’s necessary to acidify the water.

This is recommended in case bicarbonate levels are above 2.5 mmol/liter (=152.75 g/liter). Remember: to correctly acidify water, several factors must be considered, including production and growing conditions.

The salts contained in irrigation water affect EC (electrical conductivity) and substrate’s pH level, thus impacting cultivation.

  • Soft water      | 0-1,00 mmol/l HCO3 – 0-70 mg/l
  • Normal water | 1,0-2,5 mmol/l HCO3 – 70-150 mg/l
  • Hard water     | >2,5 mmol/l HCO3 – >150 mg/l
