Smart Start™ is a seed coating technology designed to help maintain moisture around grass seed during germination and early establishment.
Smart Start coats each seed with a biodegradable polymer that absorbs available moisture and holds it close to the seed. When the coating comes into contact with water, it expands around the seed, creating a moisture-rich environment during germination.
The coating also incorporates iron, zinc and manganese, providing micronutrients close to the developing seedling during early establishment.
Its distinctive blue color makes treated seed easier to see during application, helping with seed distribution.
