Dr Simon Watson takes on a new international role supporting technical expertise, research and product development across ICL Turf & Landscape.

ICL has appointed Dr Simon Watson as International Technical Manager for Turf & Landscape, supporting its technical, commercial and product development teams across international markets.

Simon moves into the role from AmegA Sciences, where he joined ICL as Senior Scientist in November 2024. His work has included the development and validation of biostimulants and technologies focused on water and nutrient use efficiency.
Supporting ICL Turf & Landscape internationally
In his new role, Simon will work across ICL’s international Turf & Landscape business, helping connect research, technical knowledge and product development with the practical challenges faced by turf professionals.
His role will include supporting technical and commercial teams, customers and partners across different markets, while contributing agronomic expertise to the development and application of ICL technologies and products.

Agronomic and turf industry experience
Before joining ICL, Simon was Senior Agronomist within The R&A’s Sustainable Agronomy team, working with golf courses across the UK and leading its sustainable certification programme.
His career has also included agronomy roles with STRI and technical positions at Syngenta, where he became Head of Technical Services for the Asia Pacific region, based in Singapore. He has also worked as an independent arable agronomist.
