ICL and ofi Partner for Sustainable Coffee Farming
On this page:
ICL Growing Solutions is proud to announce a landmark commercial partnership with ofi, Brazil’s largest coffee exporter, to integrate a full range of coffee products directly into the ofi Direct digital platform — putting sustainable, low-carbon fertilization solutions within reach of thousands of Brazilian coffee farmers.
The collaboration marks a significant step forward in ICL’s mission to connect innovative plant nutrition solutions with growers at scale. By embedding our suite of coffee solutions into the ofi Direct app — a platform already used by a large network of farmers to sell coffee directly and access forward contracts — ofi and ICL are pioneering a new model of digital-first agronomic outreach in one of the world’s most important coffee-producing regions.
As a global leader in Controlled Release Fertilizers (CRF), ICL Growing Solutions brings world-class expertise and a proven track record to this partnership. Brazil is a flagship market — but not the only one. ICL is actively advancing similar initiatives beyond Brazil, bringing sustainable, low-carbon crop nutrition to coffee and other high-value crops across the globe.
“This partnership is a natural evolution of our commitment to sustainable agriculture in Brazil. By meeting farmers where they already are — on a platform they trust — we can help them access the low-carbon solutions their crops and communities need.”
— Georg Lemperg, ICL Growing Solutions
From Pilot to Platform: The Partnership Journey
The ICL–ofi collaboration began as a strategic pilot designed to position Polyblen as a low-carbon coffee solution in Brazil. Having successfully demonstrated the agronomic and sustainability value of Polyblen in the field, the partnership is now entering a commercially focused phase — one that harnesses digital technology to generate qualified leads directly from engaged coffee farmers.
ofi Direct, which links growers to real-time world market prices and enables future sales contracts, has expanded its features to allow farmers to register their interest in purchasing ICL’s full range of coffee products. When a farmer expresses interest through the app, a lead is automatically generated and routed to the ICL Brazil sales team for personalized follow-up — creating a seamless pipeline from digital engagement to agronomic consultation.
The Way Farmers Access Sustainable Solutions
What makes this partnership stand out is its approach. Rather than relying solely on traditional sales channels, ICL and ofi are leveraging a platform that farmers already use and trust for their day-to-day trading. This creates a highly relevant, low-friction discovery experience for growers looking to improve their crop nutrition practices.
The current process involves ICL’s Brazil team personally following up each lead generated through the app, ensuring farmers receive tailored advice and support. Looking ahead, ICL plans to link the ofi Direct app directly to ICL Link — the company’s integrated agri-digital platform — enabling full automation of the lead management process once the platform is operational in Brazil.
“The ofi Direct app has already transformed how many Brazilian coffee farmers trade their coffee. Integrating ICL’s fertilizing solutions into this ecosystem is a powerful way to bring sustainable crop nutrition to farmers who are ready for it.”

A Shared Commitment to Sustainability
Brazil is the world’s largest coffee producer, and the sector is under increasing pressure to demonstrate environmental responsibility. By partnering with ofi — an organization deeply embedded in the Brazilian coffee supply chain — ICL is positioning Polyblen as the premium, low-carbon choice for farmers who want to grow more sustainably without compromising yield or quality.
This partnership reflects ICL Growing Solutions’ broader strategy of building alliances with key players across agricultural value chains to accelerate the adoption of sustainable plant nutrition solutions — benefiting growers, the environment, and the communities that depend on them
