Fries made from recycled phosphate – thanks to Puraloop® and the KNAP project
What if you could turn waste into growth?
On this page:
With Puraloop, we make this possible. This innovative fertilizer is the tangible result of the unique collaborative KNAP project, in which ICL works together with partners such as HVC, SNB, and the Nutrientenplatform. Together, we are closing the nutrient loop, giving recycled phosphate a new future in agriculture.
On one sunny day in May, visitors to the international IWA conference in Leeuwarden literally got a taste of circular agriculture. Together with our KNAP partners, we handed out fresh fries made from potatoes grown using Puraloop.
A tasty conclusion to a successful day, full of conversations about the power of recycling and collaboration.
Watch the video and meet the involved partners, feel the atmosphere, and discover how we are building a circular future together!
What is Puraloop?
Puraloop is a phosphate fertilizer with recycled material, made from phosphate recovered from waste streams. The fertilizer is granulated, safe, dust-free, and fits seamlessly into modern agricultural systems. Thanks to a smart combination of immediately available and root-activated phosphate, Puraloop is both efficient and effective.
It’s not just any fertilizer – it’s a pioneer in circular agriculture.

Puraloop is approved for use in European agriculture and meets all applicable quality and safety standards.
Working together for a circular future
The success of Puraloop is the result of true collaboration. Within the KNAP project, companies, governments, and knowledge institutions share a common mission: to close the phosphate loop. ICL contributes not only with technology but also the vision and determination. This project shows that innovation truly works when done together.
