ICL Delivers Invaluable Training, even for the Best.
A recent weed management training workshop in WA uncovered a surprising problem: the nursery was too clean!

Plantrite has always been known as a “clean” nursery, a reputation built on hard work and tight controls of their nursery hygiene. That commitment was accidentally put to the test when Joska Stroobach was booked to conduct weed management training at their nursery.

Joska needed an example of a weed specimen to demonstrate a key weed management theory: the decision to “pull them or leave them.” The problem? Joska struggled to find one—a real testament to Plantrite’s current weed management regimen.

Though Plantrite already practices excellent hygiene, they understood the value of ICL’s weed management training for their staff. Their goal wasn’t to fix a problem, but to achieve consistency. They recognized that even the best staff need regular training to ensure everyone learns the exact same, latest best practices. To guarantee this uniformity, they filmed the entire training session. David Lullfitz, Managing Director of Plantrite, explained the reasoning:

“We wanted to do this training to lift our team’s knowledge and confidence in weed management, especially around product use and safety. Recording the session was important for us so that staff who weren’t able to attend can still access the same information, and we can also use it as a refresher tool in the future. It helps us keep consistency across the whole team.”
