Hort Science Masterclass 2025

Our popular Hort Science Masterclasses return this autumn with two events exploring ‘Sustainable plant production for the future’, to be held at RHS Wisley on Wednesday 15 October, and at Brockholes Conference Centre near Preston, on Wednesday 12 November.
“Each session will be packed with actionable insights, product innovations and expert guidance – to help growers grow smarter, leaner and more sustainably,” says Matthew Miller, ICL marketing communications manager.
Aimed at bedding, herbaceous and HNS growers, the Hort Science Masterclasses include sessions titled ‘Nutrition and how to grow smarter’ with ICL Technical Manager Andrew Wilson, ‘Sustainable growing media – what comes next’ and a 30-minute session on ‘Robust vine weevil control’ and other solutions for sustainable growing.
Both Masterclasses will also feature a session by ICL sales manager Adrian Thirtle-Watts on ‘Finding solutions to new and future problems’. This is designed to bring you up to date with our latest innovations including the new Fibagro® Advance woodfibre grades; our award-winning new Fibagro Advance Pot Topper (FT); and an update on ICL’s biodegradable fertiliser coatings – ahead of impending new legislation.
The Masterclass at RHS Wisley includes a timely update from the ‘RHS Transition to Peat-Free Fellowship research’ from Dr Raghavendra Prasad; followed by an optional guided tour of Wisley.
The Masterclass at the award-winning Brockholes floating conference venue, near Preston, features guest speaker Peter Marshall, CTO of Volta eco systems, on ‘Growing your energy storage and reduce operation costs’.4/7,
