New Fine-grade Pot Topper for Small Pots & Liners

Our new fine-grade Fibagro® Advance Pot Topper FT delivers effective, sustainable weed suppression in liners and smaller pots.

Supporting both weed suppression and moisture retention, our multi-award-winning Fibagro® Advance Pot Topper with Fusion Technology (FT) is now available in two grades.

Fine-grade Pot Topper for better coverage

“Alongside the original standard grade, designed for larger container nursery stock, we’ve introduced a new finer grade – specifically developed for pots up to around 1.5litre,” says ICL Technical Area Sales Manager, Steve Chapman.  “The finer particle structure provides consistent surface coverage, making it ideally suited to small pots including 9cm liners.”

How Fibagro Advance Pot Topper FT works

This high-performance, woodfibre-based pot topper offers excellent value and ease of use. Simple to apply, either manually or using an automated pot-topping machine, Fibagro® Advance Pot Topper combines convenience with strong performance.

Once applied, its advanced Fusion Technology (FT) is activated by water, triggering a unique binder that locks the woodfibre in place. While allowing full water penetration from irrigation or rainfall, it effectively blocks light – providing excellent weed control. This pot topper is also compatible with Vine Weevil Seeka beneficial nematodes.  Thanks to the unique ICL binder, the product remains in place in windy conditions, if pots fall over and during/post-dispatch.

Sustainable weed suppression for ornamental growers

“The Fibagro® Advance Pot Topper FT includes FSC®-certified raw materials, sourced as a by-product from the British timber industry,” says Steve. “Part of a circular economy, the wood chips undergo a thermo-mechanical treatment that renders the material sterile, free of chemical or physical additives, and is highly sustainable.
