Andrew is supporting growers across the UK and Ireland with crop nutrition and fertiliser strategy. With a degree in horticulture and BASIS and FACTS qualifications, he combines strong scientific understanding with practical, on-nursery experience. Specialising in controlled-release and water-soluble fertilisers, Andrew provides clear, evidence-based advice to help growers optimise nutrition programmes, improve consistency, and achieve high-quality crop performance.

A highly experienced nurseryman, before joining ICL Carl worked in cut flower production and then bedding plants and brassicas – becoming production manager at a progressive Lincolnshire nursery. BASIS and FACTS qualified, he combines extensive experience in propagating bedding and pot plants from seeds, cuttings, and bulbs, along with in-depth, practical knowledge of ICL’s product portfolio to provide expert advice to customers.

Chloe joined ICL from the ADAS ornamentals trials team, where she focused primarily on the bedding, hardy nursery stock (HNS), and cut flowers sectors. Chloe played a lead role in the Defra/AHDB/industry-funded research project, ‘Transition to Responsibly Sourced Growing Media Use in UK Horticulture’ (CP138). BASIS qualified, her in-depth understanding of plant production and trials work makes her a valuable addition to our team.

With over 35 years ornamental horticulture experience, Ian’s expertise spans a wide range of crops and production systems, from bedding plants to specialist cell-raised trees. Visiting sites in person, to understand crops and systems firsthand, Ian delivers tailored, practical advice. BASIS and FACTS qualified, he is a trusted resource for growers seeking informed, experience-based guidance.

A skilled grower and sales professional, Jason is a third-generation grower. He gained plenty of hands-on experience working on his family’s large ornamental nursery in South Africa. Moving to the UK in 2015, he worked as a grower manager, overseeing bedding, perennials, nursery stock, and tree production. FACTS qualified, Jason’s broad practical knowledge, passion for horticulture, and focus on finding workable production solutions make him a strong asset to our technical team.

An experienced nurseryman of over 20 years, Peter is also a specialist in precision irrigation and fertigation. With an HND in Commercial Horticulture, he has grown a wide range of ornamental crops and has extensive, first-hand knowledge of ICL’s product portfolio. BASIS and FACTS qualified, his deep understanding of the science and practicalities of production makes him a valuable resource for growers in his region.

A horticultural graduate, Stephen has a strong foundation in nursery stock production and is committed to sustainable practices. With hands-on experience using Levington Advance and Osmocote, he offers both technical knowledge and practical insight. With a keen interest in innovative solutions, including biocontrols and biostimulants, Stephen is BASIS and FACTS qualified and provides expert advice on crop nutrition, plant protection, and best practice compliance.

Steve brings extensive hands-on growing experience as well as in-depth knowledge of ICL’s expanding product portfolio. A former production manager at a leading Kent nursery, he oversaw the cultivation of more than 3,500 lines of quality nursery stock. His expertise spanning propagation to finished product - across container and field-grown shrubs, trees, and perennials. BASIS and FACTS qualified, Steve’s enthusiasm, knowledge, and practical insight makes a strong impact with clients.
