Wetting agents, or surfactants, generally lower the surface tention of water and ensure that water is penetrated through the soil. This prevents dry patches to develop in periods of drought, and improves water movement during heavy rainfall.

Wetting agents are an essential part of professional turf management programs as it significantly improves water management and the water uptake of turfgrass and makes it more resilient to drought stress and disease. Hydrophobic (water-repellent) soil doesn’t stand a chance with the use of wetting agents!
