Speakers

Dr Andy Owen
ICL International Technical Manager
Andy is a sports-turf agronomist and a soil scientist who has previously worked as a researcher at the STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute), and a lecturer at Myerscough College. His current role focuses on research and new product development for the Turf and Landscape division at ICL.
Phil Collinson
ICL Sales and Business Development Manager – UK North.
Having spent almost 10 years as a Head Groundsman in professional sport he subsequently joined ICL in 2015. He has both BASIS and FACTS advisor qualifications to his name as well as progressing to become an examiner for BASIS. He is highly passionate about the industry and takes pride in being progressive in his advice to turf managers.
Sean Loakes
Syngenta Technical Manager
Sean has had a career in science and research through practical field trials and laboratory studies, primarily focused on pesticide efficacy and best practice. He ensures UK turf mangers are best placed to implement new ideas & innovations from Syngenta turf R&D into integrated programmes.
Eric Chen
Syngenta EAME Biologicals Technical Manager
Eric graduated in crop and soil sciences from Beijing Forestry University in China, before continuing education and research at Michigan State and Rutgers University in the US. He gained his PhD in plant biology with emphasis on turfgrass management from Rutgers University. Since moving to the UK, Eric has worked as a research scientist at STRI. Eric joined Syngenta in October 2022.
