Our facility in Fresno, California, USA, produces high-quality plant nutrition products for the Agriculture and Turf markets across the United States. From a single 720-gallon mix tank and manual bottling line in 1998, we have developed the site into a 5-acre operation with a 54,000-square-foot facility. With bulk storage capacity and rail access, the plant offers excellent flexibility in formulation packaging, warehousing, and logistics.
Operating in one of the most highly regulated agricultural states, the Fresno team, currently 54 employees, ensures that all operations meet or exceed California’s environmental and production standards. The facility is both WQA (Water Quality Association) Certified and an EPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency) Registered Facility, offering assurance of safety, quality, and compliance in every product we make.
The Fresno facility produces a range of ICL brands tailored for the US market, including CHALLENGE, Nova ELEVATE, Boron X-TRA, and Formula 1. These specialty fertilizers support both the agriculture and turf sectors, helping growers achieve better results through reliable, proven formulations.
Acquired by ICL in 2024 (formerly operating as Custom Ag Formulators), the site is now part of our global network of specialty fertilizer production facilities. As part of our continued investment in innovation, we are expanding production to include new biostimulant technologies. These products are designed to enhance fertilizer efficiency, improve nutrient uptake, and support sustainable crop production.
Our automated 12-head, food-grade bottling lines enable rapid and precise filling of liquid fertilizers. This system ensures clean, efficient packaging to meet high-volume demands without compromising quality.
The plant is equipped with air scrubbing units that prevent harmful emissions from being released during material blending. These controls safeguard our staff, the environment, and the surrounding community.
A comprehensive solar array now supplies more than 90% of the facility’s energy needs. This renewable energy system reflects our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and improving sustainability.
Since opening in 1998, the Fresno plant has operated in full alignment with California’s strict regulations. Our commitment to best practices has led to the site being recognized as a training location for CDFA (California Department of Food and Agriculture) fertilizer regulators.
An in-house lab, staffed by two dedicated chemists, supports custom formulation development and product quality control. This capability enables us to tailor solutions to customer needs and drive biostimulant innovation from within the facility.
