Why tank-mix compatibility matters
Tank-mixing can be an effective way to apply liquid nutrition and other turf inputs in a single application, but product compatibility is critical. Incompatible mixtures can lead to poor performance, application issues or equipment problems.
The tank-mix compatibility charts above provide guidance on tested product combinations and can help turf managers plan applications more effectively and reduce the risk of mixing issues.
How to use the tank-mix compatibility charts
The charts show the results of compatibility testing between selected ICL formulations and other turf products at the application rates shown.
Use the relevant chart to check the status of a proposed mixture before preparing the spray tank.
Depending on the combination tested, the result may show that the products are compatible, non-compatible, require constant agitation or should be used immediately after mixing.
Understanding the compatibility results
Compatible
The products were physically compatible under the conditions used for testing.
Compatible, use immediately
The mixture was physically compatible but should be applied promptly after preparation.
Constant agitation
The mixture requires continuous agitation to maintain an even spray solution.
Non-compatible
The combination should not be tank-mixed at the rates shown.
Before preparing a tank-mix
Compatibility can be affected by the products used, their concentration, water quality, mixing order and conditions in the spray tank.
Always use the application rates shown in the relevant chart as the basis for the compatibility guidance, and follow individual product labels and local application requirements.
Where a combination has not been tested, or where conditions differ materially from those represented in the chart, carry out a small-scale jar test before preparing a full spray tank.
