The ETP Farm Tour 2026 takes place in Plasencia, Spain, from 21–23 October, bringing together turf producers, suppliers, technical specialists and industry professionals from across Europe and beyond.
Hosted by Tapiz Verde, the three-day event combines technical demonstrations, knowledge exchange and networking, with a programme covering developments in professional turf production, natural grass management, hybrid technologies and high-performance sports turf.
Kentucky Bluegrass for Sports Turf
ICL is also contributing to the technical programme, with Simon Taylor, Business Development Manager Grass Seeds, presenting on the role of Kentucky bluegrass as a natural alternative to artificial fibres in sports turf.
“Kentucky bluegrass has an important role to play in producing strong, high-performing natural turf. Its rhizomatous growth can improve strength and recovery while helping reduce reliance on synthetic reinforcement.”
The presentation explores how the rhizomatous growth of Kentucky bluegrass can contribute to turf strength, recovery and surface performance, reducing reliance on synthetic reinforcement in high-performance natural turf systems.
A key focus is ProSelect 365 Super Sport, ICL’s professional grass seed mixture developed for high-performance sports turf.
365 Super Sport combines perennial ryegrass with Kentucky bluegrass to support rapid establishment, strong turf quality, wear tolerance and recovery. The Kentucky bluegrass component contributes to sod strength and natural recovery through rhizomatous growth.
The mixture also includes A-LIST® approved varieties that have demonstrated the ability to maintain excellent turf quality under demanding conditions while requiring fewer inputs.
Sharing expertise across turf management
Alongside the technical presentation, ICL specialists are attending throughout the Farm Tour to discuss grass seed, turf nutrition, establishment and management strategies with turf producers and sports turf professionals.
The event provides an opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore new approaches to natural turf production and discuss how grass species, nutrition and management practices can work together to deliver strong, high-quality playing surfaces.
