OTEA-system

The ingenious OTEA-system is one of ICL’s newest technologies included in the 5th generation of Osmocote’s controlled release fertilizers (CRF): Osmocote 5. The OTEA-system optimizes the availability of trace elements in the growing media and their uptake by plants for the best possible color, health and growth. The technology has two pillars: trace elements in the chelate form and a new dosing system for trace elements.

Chelated elements are not chemically tied up in the soil. This makes them more easily available in the growing media for efficient plant uptake. The new dosing system ensures that trace elements are available for optimized leaf color and plant growth at any time during the longevity of the CRF product. As the trace elements are released in small portions, they are immediately absorbed by the plant.
