Secure your growing media supply in Ireland
All our bespoke Levington Advance sustainable growing media is produced at our Cúil na Móna factory, in Portlaoise, which is fully stocked with all necessary quality raw materials and Osmocote controlled-release fertilisers for the season ahead.
As we enter the peak growing season, delivery times for full loads across Ireland are 4-5 days, while smaller loads (during peak times) taking up to two weeks. To keep your potting lines running smoothly, we strongly recommend placing orders as soon as possible.
To guarantee optimal performance, Levington Advance sustainable growing media is always made to order. This ‘just in time’ system ensures every batch arrives on your nursery fresh and in peak condition.
Currently, all Levington Advance mixes contain at least 35% wood-based materials, primarily Fibagro Advance woodfibre. Some Irish nurseries have already reduced their peat content by 50%, with others doing trials on peat-free growing media. If you’re looking to reduce your reliance on peat, we’re here to support your trials, including adjustments to your nutrition programme.
Target vine weevil grubs with Lalguard M52
Now is the perfect time to plan ahead for vine weevil control on your nursery. We offer the option to incorporate Lalguard M52 bioinsecticide into your bespoke Levington Advance and Levington Advance Sustain mixes—a key component of an effective Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy.
Lalguard M52 is a Metarhizium-based bioinsecticide that effectively targets vine weevil larvae while also helping to control eggs, pupae, and adult stages. Easy to use, it can be pre-incorporated into your tailor-made mixes, providing protection for up to 12 months.
For season-long control, we recommend using Lalguard M52 as part of an IPM approach, alongside the timed application of beneficial vine weevil control nematodes in spring and autumn.
Kickstart your spring sales – topdress now!
March is the time to boost early-season sales by topdressing overwintered or imported plants.
European growers rely heavily on water-soluble nutrition and many plant imports arrive with low nutrient levels, which can result in weak new growth. However, it’s not too late to green up your plants. At ICL, we offer a range of tailored nutrition solutions to help your plants thrive and maximise sales—see this edition’s feature for details.
