ICL’s Granular SSP (Single Super Phosphate) is an excellent phosphate source for plants, and was among the first commercial fertilizers to be widely used in the 20th century. Mined and processed at ICL’s energy-efficient Rotem plant, SSP fertilizer is produced by grinding and acidulating natural phosphate rock. Grinding increases the reactivity, while acidulation with sulfuric acid makes the phosphorus water soluble. The use of sulfuric acid in the SSP production process means that Granular SSP contains a large amount of soluble sulfur, making it an ideal choice for soils with sulfur deficiency. This sulfur is in the soluble sulfate (SO4) form which can be taken up immediately by plants. Meanwhile, the high water-solubility of the phosphorus in SSP increases the effectiveness of the fertilizer by making phosphorus rapidly available for plant uptake.
-
Provides readily available phosphorus along with sulfur and calcium for all crops and soils
-
An ideal, non-nitrogen phosphorus fertilizer for leguminous crops which can fix nitrogen from the air by symbiotic fixation
-
Perfect for crops with high sulfur requirements, such as legumes (alfalfa, clover, and soybean) and Cruciferae (canola, and rapeseed)
-
Good for drilling with grain legume seeds (such as soybean) that require ample supplies of phosphorus and sulfur
-
Ideal for top-dressing of pastures: the sulfur promotes legume production, thus raising both the forage quality and the nitrogen status of the pasture
-
Very useful for sulfur-deficient soils
-
For direct application in fields, orchards, and plantations
-
For bulk blending with other fertilizers
-
Premium, high-quality, dust-free product
