Lending support to our communities

Once again, ICL is delighted to be supplying a little festive cheer to The Treehouse hospice in Ipswich in the form of two 14ft Nordmann Firs – grown by former technical area sales manager, Mike Humphries, at his Bedfordshire Christmas tree farm.

Situated close to our Ipswich head office, The Treehouse forms part of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) supporting families and caring for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.

“To help maintain the hospice gardens, earlier in the year we supplied our Humax Original growing media together with locally grown plants and trees.

“We’re very grateful for this ongoing support,” says EACH corporate fund raiser Rachel Dally.  “Our outside space is a vital element of the hospice – providing places for the children to play and a reflective space for visiting families. The trees and plants have made a real difference, and the Christmas trees are a fantastic addition – helping to start off the festive decorations at The Treehouse.”

Lending marketing support to Anglia Care Trust

Meanwhile, Adam has joined the board of trustees at the Anglia Care Trust (ACT) to lend support to their marketing efforts.

“Helping people for over 50 years, ACT sets out to provide services that give people the stability, support and challenge they need to enable them to realise their full potential,” he says. “ACT is primarily focussed on helping people keep a roof over their heads, to stay safe and to be heard, while also helping them with their health and wellbeing.”

Sports sponsorship

Over the years, ICL has been delighted to lend its support to several sports initiatives, including Coplestonians FC – one of East Anglia’s largest grassroots football clubs.  For the past three season, we have sponsored the Coplestonians FC U14 girls team kit.  Offering competitive football to girls from U10 to U16, the Club hopes to form a Ladies team in the near future.

Back in the autumn, ICL lent support to Cornwall county badminton player, Julian Cooper (operations manager at Kernock Plants) sponsoring his playing kit.  Having started playing aged 7, Julian is ranked 101 in England Mixed Doubles and is President of the Plymouth and District Badminton League.  Pictured here at the recent Cornwall County Championships, with his mixed double partner Jess Canfield, the pair won the mixed doubles plate, with Julian also lifted the plate in the men’s doubles.
