ICL appoints Tom Whiteside
ICL has welcomed Tom Whiteside to its Technical Area Sales Manager team, to work with growers across East Anglia.
Tom joins ICL from ADAS, where he was a senior field research manager. At ADAS Boxworth, Tom spent nine years’ carrying out wide ranging arable and horticultural trials, providing logistical and agronomic support.
Alongside crop nutrition, Tom was closely involved in crop protection efficacy trials, testing chemical fungicides, herbicides and insecticides.
“We’re delighted to welcome Tom to our Technical Area Sales Manager team,” says ICL Sales Manager Adrian Thirtle-Watts. “He comes to us with broad knowledge of plant nutrition and crop protection. Based in Cambridgeshire, Tom will initially be covering for maternity leave working with, and advising, ornamentals customers in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, before taking on responsibility for his own area – covering the northern home counties – from the middle of next year.
Having played Rugby for Cambridgeshire in his teens, Tom now enjoys watching his local Saracens team and has become a keen runner – completing the Paris, Athens and Los Angeles marathons.
