Calibrating your AccuPro DROP
Following this guide to maintain the accuracy and reliability of your AccuPro DROP spreader, to ensure optimal application every time it is used.
Calibration is factory set on the spreader.
The AccuPro DROP features two independently working agitators driven by the left and right wheels. These agitators ensure even distribution of material through the hopper’s aperture.
Pre-Use Alignment Check
Before first use and periodically after, it is recommended to check that the left and right sides of the spreader are aligned.
Calibration Key
A calibration key for checking alignment is provided with the spreader.
How to calibrate
- Set the SmartDial™ Set the dial to 13 and open the shutter.
- Access aperture holes Place the spreader on its handles so you can easily reach the holes.
- Insert calibration key Count four holes from either the left or right side. Insert the calibration key into the fourth hole. It should fit snugly up and down. Repeat on the other side to ensure a snug fit up and down.
Resetting alignment
If the shutter bar gets misaligned, you can reset it if it’s not damaged. This works best with two people.
- Loosen locking knob Loosen the black locking knob at the centre of the orange SmartDial™.
- Open shutter bar: Push the on/off lever on the handle to the “on” position.
- Invert the spreader Turn the spreader upside down and ideally place it on a workbench.
- Loosen retaining bolts Loosen the 10mm bolts on both sides of the shutter bar. There are four bolts in total: two on the left and two on the right.
- Insert calibration key Pull the shutter bar back with your left hand and insert the calibration key into the fourth hole from the right side.
- Insert A4 paper Fold an A4 sheet in half and slide it between the shutter bar and the hopper to prevent overtightening.
- Tighten bolts Place a hand firmly on the shutter bar to keep slight downward pressure. Tighten the bolts while ensuring the calibration key remains snug in the hole. Make sure the mounting plates are parallel. Tighten the lock nuts.
- Remove the paper Remove the folded A4 paper.
- Tighten locking knob Tighten the black knob on the orange SmartDial™. It should be set to the 13 position.
- Repeat on opposite Insert the calibration key in the fourth hole from the left-hand side. Repeat steps 6 and 7 on this side.
- Verify fit The key should now fit snugly up and down in every hole.
Troubleshooting
If the holes are still misaligned, the spreader might be damaged. In this case, you might need a new shutter bar, parts, or even a complete hopper.
