Recognising leadership, innovation, and achievement across the industry, the awards celebrate a diverse range of professionals and volunteers who maintain the quality of sports pitches and green spaces across the UK.
The ‘Newcomer of the Year’ award is particularly important as it encourages and showcases the fresh perspectives and innovative thinking that new professionals bring to the industry.

Supporting the Next Generation of Turf Professionals
In addition to our sponsorship of the GMA Awards, ICL is proud to support the development of new talent through initiatives like the ICL Continue to Learn Scholarship at the BTME. Each year, this scholarship provides five ambitious members of the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) with the opportunity to attend the prestigious Continue to Learn education programme.
By covering costs such as education, travel, and accommodation, the scholarship helps to level the playing field, allowing talented individuals who may face financial barriers to access vital career-development opportunities. This initiative further underscores ICL’s commitment to nurturing the future leaders of the turf care industry.
