Important usage restrictions for Praxys®
Understanding Praxys® Usage Restrictions for Safe and Effective Application
At ICL, we take the safety and effective use of our products seriously. Together with Corteva Agriscience, we would like to highlight the importance of following usage guidelines when using Praxys®, particularly regarding its impact on composting, mulching, and green waste applications.
Usage Restrictions for Lawns and Grass Clippings
Although Praxys is approved for use on managed amenity turf and amenity grassland, it must not be used on any lawns or grass where clippings are collected for composting, mulching, or green waste. This is due to the following statements from the Prayxs product label:
- “DO NOT USE any plant material treated with PRAXYS for composting or mulching.”
- “DO NOT use PRAXYS on turf or any grass where the clippings are collected for use in mulching, compost, or in green waste.”
These guidelines are based on the potential risks associated with the active ingredient clopyralid, which can cause unintended consequences if it enters compost or mulch applications.
Since many grass clippings from lawns are either disposed of as green waste or used for composting, it’s critical to ensure Praxys is not applied to turf where this may occur. Continued misuse could lead to the detection of clopyralid in green waste streams, risking the revocation of the Praxys formulation.

Alternatives for Lawn Applications
For lawn treatments where clippings may be collected, we recommend using Celadon™ or Esteron™ T.
These products provide effective solutions for turf treatments while avoiding the risks associated with Praxys in green waste. For further information or clarification on these guidelines, please contact ICL directly.
Use herbicides safely. Always read the label and product information before use. Praxys® Celadon™ and Esteron™ T are Trademarks of Corteva Agriscience and its affiliate companies
