New value-added products for enhanced growing media

2 mins

We are delighted to bring you news of three added-value, growing media incorporated, biological products; the biofungicide Prestop; our vine weevil bioinsecticide Lalguard M52; and our new high performance biostimulant Vitalnova TriBoost.

Saving time & labour

Helping growers optimise plant quality while minimising losses, these proven products can all be pre-incorporated into Levington Advance Solution mixes – saving you time and labour costs.

Being biological (natural in origin), they also offer environmental benefits compared to chemical alternatives.

Vine weevil control – Lalguard M52

Since the loss of Thiacloprid, vine weevil is becoming more evident on nurseries across Ireland. Lalguard M52, our powerful new Metarhizium-based bioinsecticide, delivers quick control of the larval stage in growing media – killing immature grubs within just 3 days.  Having conducted trials in Ireland last year, growers are starting to include this bioinsecticide in their Levington Advance mixes as standard.

Boosting peat-free performance

To improve rooting and overall plant health in peat-reduced and peat-free mixes, we have our new tried and tested high performance biostimulant – Vitalnova TriBoost.  Conveniently pre-incorporated into mixes, it significantly enhances the microbial content boosting plant vitality and optimising plant quality, while minimising losses.

Fungal diseases protection with Prestop

With the recent loss of many chemical fungicides, our biofungicide Prestop is a welcome addition to our solutions range.  Incorporated into growing media, or applied to plants as a foliar spray, it provides welcome protection from fungal diseases before they become a problem.

Plan ahead

Mirroring our UK growing media factory on the Scottish borders, our Cúil na Móna mixing site and facility in Portlaoise is fully stocked for next season.  We are already starting to discuss customers’ growing media, nutrition and plant protection needs for 2024

So, with autumn traditionally a quieter time on many nurseries, why not plan ahead and talk to us now about your specific requirements for the season ahead.
