USA Colleagues Visit Boulby Mine to Learn About Polysulphate

In a significant cross-continental exchange, our USA colleagues, along with key customers from Nutrien and Simplot, visited the Boulby Mine for a first-hand experience and educational tour on our flagship organic product, Polysulphate. This trip provided invaluable insight into both the production process and the real-world agricultural benefits of this unique multi-nutrient fertiliser.

A Warm Welcome and Introduction to Polysulphate

The visit began with a comprehensive introduction to the commercial direction of Polysulphate, led by Richard Ward. Richard took the group through a presentation on how the UK Market positions Polysulphate and the opportunities that we see for the product. Richard highlighted the synergies with US agriculture and cropping, and the potential for growth in the US market. A view shared by the distributors in attendance, who also liked the PotashpluS options too.

A Journey Down the Mine

Following the commercial briefing, the team ventured deep underground to the heart of the operation: the Boulby Mine itself. The underground tour allowed them to see the meticulous process of mining and hoisting the product, offering a unique, behind-the-scenes look at how Polysulphate is extracted. Witnessing the raw materials being mined provided the group with a true appreciation for the scale and complexity involved in bringing Polysulphate to market.

A Day on the Farm

The following day, the team hit the road for a visit to local farms, where they saw the direct impact of Polysulphate on agricultural practices. Scott Garnett, led the team to Petch’s Farm and Skelton Estates, where they witnessed first-hand the success stories from our advocate farmers. These visits highlighted how Polysulphate has been successfully integrated into their farming operations, showcasing its effectiveness in boosting crop yields while maintaining sustainability.

The on-farm experience allowed the team to engage directly with farmers who have seen tangible results from using Polysulphate. The feedback from these farmers emphasised not only the product’s efficacy but also the broader environmental benefits it brings, such as soil health improvement and enhanced nutrient cycling.
