Meet Cate Norris, our newest territory manager
Cate brings a strong background (and legacy) in ornamental horticulture to the ICL Territory Management team.
There’s a new member of the ICL Growing Solutions Ornamental Horticulture team. Meet Cate Norris, our Territory Manager for Tennessee, South Carolina, Northern Georgia, and Northern Alabama.
Cate currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, but she comes to us with Texas roots. She grew up in Rowlett, Texas, experiencing her family’s nursery business firsthand. She got a B.S. in Agricultural Leadership and Development with a minor in Horticulture from Texas A&M University. Her ornamental work experience came at Landmark Nurseries, one of the largest wholesale growers and distributors in the state.
Cate’s grandfather Jim Prewitt, founder of Landmark Nurseries, inspired her desire to get into horticulture. “My grandfather started his own wholesale nursery in the ‘80s and grew it into a large operation that my father now runs,” she says. “After seeing how much my grandfather put into the industry, I developed an interest in horticulture and working within the industry he loved so much.”
Outside of horticulture, Cate’s interests include raising and selling show cattle, spending time with family, and exploring new places. Her extended family includes her parents, Kevin and Kim Norris, two sisters, a brother-in-law, and a nephew. “No pets, just about 20 shorthorn cattle!” she adds.
When Cate decided to pursue a career in horticulture beyond growing, we’re glad we came up on the list. “During my job search, I heard nothing but wonderful things about ICL and its employees, which has far surpassed all expectations,” she says.
We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Cate to the ICL Growing Solutions team!
