H2Gro Improves Growth and Rooting in Chrysanthemum
Greenhouse production, south-east France 2024
Key Conclusions
- Applying H2Gro at rate 1.5 ml/l delivered strong improvements in plant development, rooting, and substrate stability in greenhouse chrysanthemum production in south‑east France.
- Compared to untreated plants, H2Gro‑treated containers showed better root mass, more uniform growth, and reduced substrate shrinkage, supporting healthier and more resilient plants.
Objective
To visually evaluate the effect of H2Gro on plant development, rooting, and substrate behavior in greenhouse‑grown chrysanthemum under commercial production conditions in south‑east France.

Trial station

Product
H2Gro
Assessments
visual assessment of plant and root development
Treatments
Two treatments were compared in this trial. The H2Gro treatment consisted of a single initial application at 1.5 ml/l, applied via high‑volume sprinkler irrigation at the beginning of July 2024 to ensure full penetration into the substrate. After this application, plants were irrigated normally using drip irrigation with two drippers per container, allowing the wetting agent to continue supporting uniform moisture distribution throughout the root zone. The untreated control received the same irrigation regime but no H2Gro.

Results

Plants treated with H2Gro (left) showed visibly stronger and more uniform growth, with better canopy formation compared to untreated plants. H2Gro improved root mass and distribution, supporting more efficient water and nutrient uptake.
Containers treated with H2Gro exhibited less substrate shrinkage, indicating improved moisture penetration and retention throughout the root zone.
