A new agreement between ICL and one of China’s top agricultural distribution companies, AMP Holdings, brings good news for growers in China. This new 5-year agreement, which extends until 2028, will ensure the availability of ICL’s specialty water-soluble fertilizers, frequently used for drip irrigation of high-value crops, for Chinese growers.

Growing Demand

China has experienced significant shifts in agricultural practices in recent years. These changes are partly due to the increase in high-value crops grown for their potential return on investment. However, extreme weather fluctuations, varied crop types, and a shrinking agricultural workforce have also played their part. The combination of changing crops and adapting to changing weather patterns has led to a substantial increase in the adoption of drip irrigation, which is driving demand for specialty soluble fertilizers and making China the world’s largest market for fertigation. Elad Aharonson, president of ICL Growing Solutions, explains how ICL’s specialty fertilizers are a perfect solution for China’s modern farmers.

“Our soluble fertilizer products are recognized as market leaders in China – a key region for us – and this agreement with AMP Holdings will further strengthen ICL’s position in the premium part of China’s specialty fertilizer market.”

Productive Partnership

China’s growing demand for specialty fertilizers aligns perfectly with ICL’s innovative agricultural solutions. This agreement with AMP Holding is an endorsement of ICL’s expertise in specialty soluble fertilizers. Ye Hong, general manager of AMP Holdings, welcomes this new partnership.

“We are pleased to expand our relationship with ICL Group and to partner together to bring innovative specialty solutions to the Chinese market. Together, we are helping farmers maximize their investments and their yields through the use of specialty irrigation-based fertilizers.”

Future Production

The potential benefits that ICL’s innovative specialty water-soluble fertilizers will bring to China’s cash crops, such as apples, watermelons, vegetables, strawberries, ginger, and grapes, over the coming 5 years are significant. This reflects ICL’s continued investment in developing innovative new plant nutrition products to meet the evolving needs of modern farmers in China and around the world.
