Taste the circular future with Puraloop fries
On May 20, circularity literally gets a taste during the networking reception of the international IWA Resource Recovery conference in Leeuwarden. Together with the partners within the KNAP project, we will introduce visitors to a special innovation: fries made from potatoes grown with our unique recycled phosphate fertilizer Puraloop.
The IWA Resource Recovery Conference is a leading scientific conference on recovering valuable resources from water and waste streams. Researchers, policy makers and innovators from around the world gather here to share knowledge about the future of recycling and sustainability.
Networking reception
During the networking reception, we bring this knowledge to the plate. Visitors can enjoy fries made from potatoes fertilized with phosphate recovered from water treatment processes. What would normally be considered waste returns to the food chain thanks to smart technologies and collaboration.
The KNAP project (Kringloopsluiting van Nutriënten uit Afvalwater en Proceswater, i.e. Closing the Nutrient Cycle from Wastewater and Process Water) is a public-private partnership in which parties from the water sector, food industry and agriculture work together on innovative solutions to recover and reuse nutrients. The project shows how we can close cycles – from residual stream to valuable application.
Groundbreaking project
ICL is proud to be part of this groundbreaking project. With Puraloop, together with our KNAP partners, we are showing that circular fertilization works: in practice and on the plate. The fries we serve are not only tasty, but also a tangible result of years of innovation and collaboration.
Puraloop shows that circular fertilization is not a vision of the future, but reality. And that’s just the beginning. Within KNAP, we are working on more solutions for sustainable agriculture. Because tomorrow’s challenges require cooperation today.
Are you attending the IWA conference on May 20?
Then be sure to stop by the networking drinks and taste for yourself what circular agriculture tastes like. Together we make the cycle complete – and with a smile (and a fry in hand).
