As part of a partnership dedicated to advancing agricultural innovation, ICL’s R&D and agronomy teams visited the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI) in Rehovot. The visit in December 2024 is part of a program to reinforce the collaboration between ICL and HUJI.

State of the Art Research

The visit featured a lecture by Professor Menachem Moshelion, a leading researcher in plant physiology, followed by a tour of the state-of-the-art research greenhouses. A focal point of the collaboration is the use of PlantDiTech’s Plantarray system, developed by Professor Moshelion.

The Plantarray system is a cutting-edge platform for physiological phenotyping, enabling precise and continuous monitoring of plant growth under different soil and water conditions, as well as plants’ responses to crop nutrition or other plant inputs and treatments, accelerating the development of agricultural products.

Rapid Analysis of ICL Biostimulant Products

During the visit, ICL’s agronomist and R&D teams observed a set of experiments utilizing the Plantarray system to evaluate the performance of ICL’s new biostimulant products under controlled conditions. By leveraging the Plantarray system, ICL can quickly and accurately screen new biostimulant products, rapidly assessing their effectiveness. This system significantly reduces the time required to bring these latest innovations to market.

The Benefits of an Ongoing Partnership

ICL has secured access to the Plantarray system at HUJI’s research greenhouses to conduct rigorous product testing as part of an ongoing agreement with the university. This visit was an excellent opportunity for the agronomy and R&D teams to witness the potential of this rapid, advanced testing system. By combining ICL’s expertise and this cutting-edge Plantarray system, ICL is driving sustainable solutions in agriculture to create effective growing solutions for our customers.
