Nova PULSE & Nova FINISH on Soybean

Key Conclusions
- Foliar application of macro- and micronutrients, including Nova PULSE and Nova FINISH, boosts soybean yields, especially during the R1-R2 growth stage. This timing is also ideal for combining foliar nutrition with fungicides and insecticides.
- Highest yields were obtained with Nova PULSE alone or combined with Nova FINISH, offering a significant return on investment with an average yield increase of 520 kg/ha.
Objective
To evaluate the effect of single and sequential applications of Nova PULSETM, a water-soluble foliar fertilizer designed to improve soybean N fixation and yield. Additionally, Nova FINISHTM, a water-soluble NPK fertilizer with a full complement of micronutrients was applied alone and in combination. with Nova PULSE at the flowering stages of soybean to demonstrate another foliar nutrition option for late-season nutritional management of soybean.

Treatments
The early vegetative stage (V4-V6) application of Nova PULSE (0-6-4-1Mg-1.3S-0.5Co-10Mo-6Zn) occurred on
2 July 2023. The flowering stage (R1-R2) applications of Nova PULSE and Nova FINISH (8-12-40-2.5S-0.03B-0.05Cu- 0.1Mn-0.02Mo-0.1Zn) occurred on 20 July 2023. Nova PULSE was applied at a rate of 420 g/ha at each application,
and Nova FINISH was applied at 2.2 kg/ha. Applications occurred in a water volume of 187 L/ha. Each treatment
was replicated four times.

Results
- Compared to the untreated control, which received no foliar nutrition, all treatments increased yield.
- The yield response to Nova PULSE was greater when applied at the R1-R2 stages. A sequential application of Nova PULSE at V4-V6 followed by a second application at R1-R2 resulted in a larger yield response (480 kg/ha) relative to the control.
- The treatment with the V4-V6 application of Nova PULSE followed by a R1-R2 application of Nova FINISH resulted in the highest overall yield (5.42 MT/ha), or a response of 560 kg/ha (11% increase), compared to the control.
