PeKacid 0-60-20 is ICL’s highly acidic (pH=2.2), fully-soluble phosphorus and potassium fertilizer formulated for fertigation applications for calcareous soils and/or high bicarbonate content irrigation waters. PeKacid has anticlogging action and acidifying power, providing blockage-free irrigation. It reduces the pH of the irrigation water, which helps to prevent precipitates, keeping irrigation systems clean. Therefore, PeKacid replaces the conventional application of phosphoric acid, resulting in an easier, safer and more effective fertigation. Easy to dissolve, it’s ideal in a fertigation system for your open-field or soilless crops. You could also use it in a tank mix with calcium and magnesium, thanks to its acidity. It’s low in sodium, free of chloride, and highly soluble at 670 g/l water (at 20°C).

The acidity of PeKacid supports the creation of formulations that contain phosphorous and some calcium or magnesium in the same tank. This is a rare property among phosphorous fertilizers.

The very low sodium content makes PeKacid an excellent candidate for fertigation and foliar nutrition for delicate and sensitive crops.

Its acidifying effect will prevent clogging in your fertigation lines and regulate the pH level in soil solution for better nutrient uptake.

Depending on the amount of bicarbonate HCO3 that needs to be reduced, Nova PeKacid might be enough, eliminating the need for additional acidifiers.

Nova PeKacid has a potent acidifying effect: 0.24 g will buffer 1 mmol (61 mg) HCO3 or 1 g will buffer 4.2 mmol (256 mg) HCO3

Nova PeKacid can be used briefly to clean pipes. We recommend doing this between cultures. Put 3.5 to 5 kg/m3 of Nova PeKacid in the solution and run the system for 15 minutes. Then rinse the system with clean water for 15 minutes.

* It is not necessary to neutralize 100% to make the bicarbonate problem insignificant. Allowing for some residual bicarbonates provides a margin of error and avoids the risks associated with over-acidification.

How to calculate dosage

Example: To prepare a 1:20 working solution for 100 L of water, divide 100 L by 20. This gives you 5, meaning you’ll need 5 kg of fertilizer for 100 L of water.

Example: To prepare a 1:15 working solution for 150 L of water, divide 150 L by 15. This gives you 10, meaning you’ll need 10 kg of fertilizer for 150 L of water.
