Borsaskögle, Sweden 2023

Key Conclusions
Agroblen ensures the best start for Norway spruce (Picea abies), improving plant establishment. When compared to the usual growers’ practice, the Norway spruce fertilized with Agroblen had a 57% greater root weight, a 69% higher shoot weight, a 34% increase in root collar diameter, and the plants were 28% taller, improving the sapling survival rate.
Objective
To evaluate the performance of Agroblen, as fully coated NPK, on plant development of Picea abies after 3 growing seasons.

Results
- Improves plant establishment: Just 20 grams of Agroblen improves plant establishment by increasing root and shoot weight by 57% and 69% respectively.
- Increases root collar diameter: Agroblen increases root collar diameter and the length of the top shoot by 35% and 80% respectively.
- Increases plant height: The plant height over the trial period increased by 28%.
- Improves survival rate: Increasing root collar diameter and plant height improves the survival rate of the plants, reducing severe damages from animals (moose and deer), weeds, and pests (pine weevil). This extra resistance can remove the need for an extra pine weevil treatment.
