Key Conclusions

Agroblen® 9-20-8+3MgO+0.1B | 8-9M is a high-phosphorus fully coated NPK fertilizer enriched with boron and magnesium. This trial demonstrates how it provides the nutrients needed to produce uniform growth and stronger rooting, boosting early establishment.

At the end of the first year, the trees fertilized with ICL’s Agroblen were 42% taller and had stems that were 63% wider than trees without Agroblen. Overall, after two years, this increased growth meant the trunk volume of the Agroblen fertilized trees was 76% greater than the control, all thanks to just 50 grams of Agroblen per tree.

Objective

To evaluate the impact of Agroblen, as fully coated NPK, on plant establishment of Eucalyptus nitens in the first 6 months after planting, and on plant development after 2 growing seasons.

Results

  • Increased plant height and stem diameter: In the first year after planting, trees fertilized with Agroblen doubled their size. When compared to the control trees, the Agroblen fertilized trees were 42% taller, with stem diameters that were 63% larger.
  • Increased total tree trunk volume: After two growing seasons, plants fertilized with Agroblen reached 4.5m height, statistically significantly higher than the control. At this time, the total trunk volume of trees fertilized with Agroblen was 76% greater than the control trees.
  • Agroblen boosts plants establishment in the first year: A single 50 grams/tree Agroblen application boosted plant establishment in the first year, and facilitated the trees’ development over subsequent years.
