Top-quality appearance and disease resistance in one ProSelect® Riptide is a top-ranked variety in the UK and Nordics. It’s a fine-leaved, creeping bentgrass adapted to European climatic conditions. This densely shooting variety is a tremendous winter performer when it comes to color retention, frost, and disease tolerance, also holding its own against the stress of summer stress in hotter regions. Ideal for golf course greens, tees and fairways, Riptide establishes quickly, especially in spring and keeps its bright mid-green color right through autumn and winter. Riptide grows upright, but low to the ground with high tiller shoot density. Excellent resistance to brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani), foliar blight/basal rot (anthracnose), pink snow mold (fusarium) and take-all-patch (Gaeumannomyces graminis). In independent trials by the National Turfgrass Evaluation Program, (NTEP), Riptide was given top rankings for both quality of appearance and disease resistance.

Recommended Rate:
For permanent turf, seed at 5 – 8 g/m² during early or spring.
For overseeding, seed at 3 – 5 g/m² for continuous interseeding greens.
Keep seedbed moist during germination and establishment. Expect germination in 4 to 7 days at minimum soil temperature of 12°C.
Average sowing rate | 5 g/m² |
Try first on a small scale before changing the rate, or any other variables. As circumstances can differ and the application of our products is beyond our control, ICL cannot be held responsible for any adverse results.
Mow at 2.5 – 10 mm, depending on turf use.
If you need more information, please contact your technical support.
ICL recommends a general fertilizer program with a yearly amount of nitrogen ranging from 10 – 20 g/m², phosphorous 5 – 7 g/m², and potassium 25 – 40 g/m².
Check micronutrient amounts with tissue tests during the year and again with a soil test in the early spring. Riptide responds better to leaner inputs of nutrition and water, reducing maintenance expenses. Irrigate deeply and infrequently in absence of rainfall; more lightly and frequently for overseeded turf.
