ICL supports Solheim Cup 2023

Working closely with the agronomy team of Finca Cortesin’s golf course, ICL is proud to announce its support for the Solheim Cup 2023, one of the most renowned women’s golf tournaments in the world. From 22-24 September, Finca Cortesin welcomes the best female golfers from Europe and the United States to meet and play against each other.

On this occasion, ICL will be a proud partner of the team of volunteer greenkeepers at the Solheim Cup 2023. Fifty agronomists from Spain and all over Europe will work alongside Finca Cortesin’s greenkeepers in the final phase of preparing the course for the event, which will be held later this month from 22 to 24 September.

An integrated turf management approach

ICL has been working closely for three years with Finca Cortesin’s agronomic team, led by Ignacio Soto, carrying out field trials with the wetting agents of H2Pro, the biostimulant Vitalnova and foliar nutrition fertilizer Greenmaster Liquid. The aim of these three years of work has been to prepare the course to guarantee the best playability during this Open. As is well known, Finca Cortesin irrigates all its facilities with recycled water. Both ICL and Finca Cortesin, to support the development of sustainable projects, have been testing the wetting agents to obtain the best results according to the type of water, turf and quality required.

Technical training seminar

Beyond the sponsorship, ICL will actively participate during the Open, and on Thursday the 21st will give a technical training seminar for the team of volunteer Greenkeepers, on different key aspects about the preparation and maintenance of fields for this type of event.
