Spinach Trial with Agromaster® in Germany
Yield increase
Kleinniedesheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany 2024
Yield increase
Key Conclusions
The treatments with Agromaster® 32-0-0 1-2M with a single application and a 100% N fertilizer quantity showed increased yields compared to the standard treatment with 2 separate applications. When the fertilizer quantity was reduced to 80%, as legally required in some areas, Agromaster® 32-0-0 achieved 11% higher yield than the standard, reduced treatment.
- A single application of Agromaster® increases the yield.
The treatment with a single application of Agromaster® produced 7% higher yield than the usual treatment with two applications. - Less nitrogen losses at 80% and up to 11% higher yield with Agromaster®
The use of Agromaster® 32-0-0 with reduced N application resulted in 11% higher yield than the reduced conventional treatment. - Higher N efficiency, up to 19%
The use of Agromaster® 32-0-0 improved nitrogen efficiency by up to 11% with 100% N fertilization and by 19% with 80% N compared to the standard 100% N treatment.
Objective
Comparison of Agromaster® (with 40% coated nitrogen and 1-2M longevity) with the best grower practice fertilization program in wet spring and a high N requirement in spinach crop in Germany.

Results
Agromaster® 32-0-0 provides plants with better nutrition in wet spring
- A single application is beneficial, especially if fertilization is not possible due to wet conditions
- Yield was increased by 7% compared to the 100% N grower practice
- With the N rate reduced to 80% of the grower practice, the yield increase with Agromaster® was 11%
The nitrogen efficiency of Agromaster® 32-0-0 was up to 11% higher at the 100% N rate and 19% higher at the 80% N rate compared to the standard grower practice.
