Key Conclusions

For optimal increases in yield and quality alongside robust plant vitality, BEOZ® Flintstone and BEOZ® Sard represent the most effective options for supporting strawberries beyond standard fertilization.

Application Guidelines:

  • BEOZ® Sard is highly recommended for both June-bearing and everbearing (day-neutral) varieties.
  • BEOZ® Flintstone demonstrated its greatest potential when applied during the establishment phase and on June-bearing varieties.
  • The best results were achieved through repeated foliar applications every 10–14 days at a rate of 2–3 L/ha.

Objective

In this field trial conducted at the Esteburg Research Station, the effects of the biostimulants BEOZ® Sard and BEOZ® Flintstone on the quality and yield of strawberries were evaluated. The trial utilized a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 32 plants per plot.

Results

This trial evaluated the impact of the biostimulants BEOZ® Sard and BEOZ® Flintstone on both the fruit firmness and marketable yield of strawberries.

Enhanced Fruit Firmness

Measured in g/mm, the BEOZ® Flintstone treatment achieved a higher fruit firmness (321 g/mm) compared to the untreated control. BEOZ® Sard delivered even greater results, reaching 330 g/mm, representing a 6% increase in firmness over the control group.

Increased Marketable Yield

Simultaneously, the impact on marketable yield was recorded, with BEOZ® Flintstone delivering the highest overall yield increase. With an average weight of 428 g/plant, the marketable yield was approximately 11% higher than the untreated control. The BEOZ® Sard treatment also showed strong performance, with a yield of 420 g/plant, representing a 9% increase over the control group (386 g/plant).
